Border Crossing

We are ready to cross into Mexico in the morning  of July 21,2011.  We have been parked in an R.V. park at Alamo, Texas for a few days.  We traveled the 1100 miles from Paducah without incident.  The weather  is very hot,  Our leader, Norman Yelland, has given us much information and paper work.  There are many details to see to.  The folks from Australia have not shown and may meet up with us in South America.
Norman has been on this trip 13 times so he knows the route.  He and his son did an inspection of our motorhome this morning and didn't miss anything.  We had to put on new wiper blades but otherwise we are good to go.  Our route takes us to Tampico the first day.  Since the paper work at the border takes time this will be a long day.  We have a road log but it will probably change daily due to local conditions.
The excitement builds as Norman talks about what we will see such as 100s of pink flamingos, storks, and thousands of penguins.
